Two Samoans from L.A.: Dan Taulapapa McMullin and Chuck Feesago

Two Samoans from L.A. opens this Sunday (3 April, 2011) at o’kaioceanikart Gallery in Auckland, New Zealand. The exhibition features Dan Taulapapa McMullin and Chuck Feesago.

Dan’s new works were made in Fiji and L.A. and are in marked contrast to his 2008 solo exhibition at Fresh Gallery where he focused on family and American Samoa. His current direction is bold and sensuous.

Chuck Feesago gorgeous kavajava series is a sophisticated and organic collection of large and small works mixed media on board.  An artist with an MFA from Claremont Graduate University, he is Co-director and curator of Project 210 in Pasadena with management and teaching roles at the University of LaVerne.

Opening night: 3 April, 2011 4pm – 6pm. Exhibition ends 4 September, 2011 8 April, 2011.
